October recap
Hello from the team here at Bobbin Babes! Welcome to the first of our monthly newsletters where we’ll talk about all things swimming.
We are now over halfway into the October – December term (the last day of this term before the Christmas break will be on the 16th of December). So far this term in our parent and baby classes we’ve had animal week, pirate week and lots more. We use lots of equipment in every lesson to make the activities fun and engaging. Also, sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. We love getting our Bobbin Babes to learn through play!
Our after-school swimmers have been working hard on their rotations in the water, as well as perfecting their front and back crawl, body position, and legs. We practised sinkers in the water and push-and-glides. For our more advanced swimmers, we are getting ready to go over breaststroke, arms, then legs.
Everybody worked very hard this month, well done!
The Magic of Baby Swimming Lessons: Top 5 Reasons to Start Early
At Bobbin Babes, we firmly believe in the magic of baby swimming lessons. Here are the top 5 reasons why starting early can make a world of difference:
a. Water Confidence: Our little swimmers gain invaluable water confidence from a young age. They develop a love for the water that lasts a lifetime. All of our teachers gradually introduce the children to the water and gently encourage them, ensuring they have nothing but fun and positive associations with the water.
b. Physical Development: Swimming promotes physical strength and coordination. It's a fantastic way to keep those tiny muscles active. Because much of your baby’s body is supported by water, the main focus for them is on maintaining balance. Overall, babies who attend swimming lessons have a much better balance out of the pool.
c. Bonding: There's nothing quite like the bonding experience of swimming with your little one in our luxurious pool. It's a special time for both parent and child to enjoy themselves and relax.
d. Safety First: Teaching water safety skills at an early age can be a lifesaver. It's an essential life skill that we instil into the children at the earliest opportunity.
e. Social Interaction: Bobbin Babes isn't just about swimming; it's also about building friendships and social skills in a nurturing environment.
Team news
We are pleased to welcome our newest addition, Kate, to the Bobbin Babes team! Kate became a fully qualified swimming teacher at the beginning of the year and was coached by Sam and many of the other wonderful teachers before leading her own classes. You will see her smiley face in the pool for both baby swimming classes and our after-school lessons. With our growing family of talented instructors, we are excited to continue creating an environment where children not only learn to swim but also do so with joy and confidence.
More after school lessons available!
We have added extra after school classes on Tuesdays due to there being such a high demand for them! From the new term which starts in January, we will hold lessons for children ages 4-11 from 4-6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
In our after-school lessons, the children gain independence from their parents with the comfort of them watching from the pool side. Our teachers will encourage them to push themselves and improve their technique in a safe and supportive way.
Private Lessons
For most, the group sessions are a great opportunity for socialising and togetherness. Even though we limit the number of parents, babies and children who participate in our group classes, sometimes a private lesson can be more beneficial. A private lesson is one, two or three children with a teacher for 30 mins with the whole pool to yourselves. You can use the time and teachers’ expertise to work on whatever you want! Whether you’d like to improve certain skills or develop confidence in a more intimate environment – we will tailor each private lesson to you.
